I am able to demonstrate P4C in action with groups of children in any school or community. I can fit courses and demonstrations in with your requirements and provide introductory workshops or 'taster' days.
Level 1 course (SAPERE guidelines)
The common recommendation for preparation to start teaching P4C is a two-day course that conforms to SAPERE guidelines (SAPERE is the co-ordinating body for P4C in the UK). As a SAPERE-registered trainer, I am able to provide level 1 courses for individual schools or for clusters and local authorities. I also provide training for home schooling groups. I can supplement the level 1 course with demonstrations of P4C with groups of children.
Level 2 course (SAPERE guidelines)
The level 2 course provides four days of intensive and rewarding work to prepare teachers to lead P4C development in their schools and communities. A Level one certificate is a requirement for entry to Level 2.
Ongoing Support
I can provide ongoing support for teachers who have completed P4C courses in several ways:
- Email support to answer questions and give advice
- Visits to your school to give demonstrations
- Help with planning P4C into your curriculum
- Help with constructing P4C curriculum themes around big concepts such as 'friendship, fairness, difference, freedom and truth'
- Support and further training for teachers who will lead the develpment of P4C
